Australian alternative indie group Sesame Girl are today sharing their glittering new single ‘Superstar’.

Carried on the warmth and bounce of acoustic guitars, 'Superstar'’s gazey chorus hits like a winning punch, driving home the heartfelt sincerity of Heather Duncan's instantly recognisable voice as she lets the world into a friendship where they are "one in a million, a superstar" and promises to always be there, stating: "you know you just call."

In Heather’s words; "‘Superstar’ is a sincere ode to friendship and wanting the best for the people you love. It’s about celebrating their wins, while also being there for them no matter what they’re going through."

‘Superstar’ is the band’s second single with Grammy award winning producer Simon Lam (Charlie XCX, The Temper Trap, Allday, Armlock). Building on the previously released “Back to Texas’ Sesame Girl reveal more of the magic they’ve found by reinventing themselves. ‘This is the music that we’ve wanted to make this whole time, and working with Simon has brought out the best and most authentic version of what we’ve been doing.’

Sesame Girl is an Australian alternative indie band originally formed in Ngunnawal Country / Canberra. The band released their debut Ep “Lucky Charm” in 2022, leading the project to quickly gain attention for its mix of “textured, immediately recognisable vocals”, heartfelt lyrics, pop sensibilities and 90s inspired, guitar-driven riffs.

Sesame Girl has toured with acts such as MAY-A, Vacations, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, The Belair Lip Bombs and British India, and supported the greats in, Spacey Jane, Grinspoon, You Am I and Spiderbait alongside playing festivals such as Spilt Milk and Yours and Owls.
