Ona Mafalda is today sharing new single 'ANTHEM' as well as news of plans for an EP, ‘Todo en Orden’ for release this Autumn. She will also return to London for a show at The Old Blue Last on 12th November.
Ona Mafalda is an artist in constant reinvention. Her music is born from the need to reset, to start from scratch, and to transform without fear. With roots between Spain and the United Kingdom – and singing in both Spanish and English - her sound blends indie-rock’s electric energy with heart-pounding, shimmering indie-pop, creating a bilingual, borderless style. It’s an approach that in turn has taken her across the world, notably opening multiple times for Coldplay on their The Music Of The Spheres tour, performing at Primavera Sound, as well as The Great Escape. At the end of last year she played a sold out headline show at The Victoria Dalston in London, and recent singles 'Otra' and Nada' have been picking up plays across BBC 6 Music and Radio X.
News of a new EP from Ona Mafalda emerges in the wake of 2025 album Reset, a record that explored the courage it takes to start over, inspired by the music that has accompanied her since childhood — now reinvented in her own language. Inspired by artists such as The Strokes, Florence and the Machine, Blondie, PJ Harvey, and Patti Smith, Ona embraces the rawness of the guitar and turns it into the driving force behind a new creative chapter, exuding authenticity, strength, and vulnerability in equal measure. Looking ahead to new single 'Anthem' and upcoming EP ‘Todo en Orden’, Ona continues to find ways to bind the many differing facets of her sound into one clear identity.
Ona comments on 'ANTHEM': "'Anthem' lives in that space where melancholy and light meet. It’s about growing with someone without ever losing what connects you. Warm melodies, as summer approaches, create a nostalgic pull like home. And home, for me, always brings me back to London, which is why this song is in English."
Continuing about the upcoming EP, she says: "After the release of my album Reset, I began my tour across Spain, carrying a fresh wave of inspiration and continuing to explore the new sound I introduced with Reset. As the tour progressed, I started writing and developing new music shaped by the experiences, and connections I encountered along the way. Those moments on the road became the foundation for my next project, a 5-track EP titled ‘Todo en Orden’ (which in English translates to "all in order"), capturing the feeling of finding clarity after chaos."

Commenting on the video for 'ANTHEM', she says: "The video was filmed in London at Victoria Park. Although you never see them on camera, I'm actually on rollerblades throughout the shoot to create the illusion of floating. We wanted the movement to feel effortless and weightless, as if I'm being carried by the song's emotion rather than just moving through the space. That visual idea reflects one of the song’s central lyrics: "Cause I want that high that you carry around." It’s about chasing that uplifting feeling someone else can bring into your life that sense of joy and freedom that can change how everything feels around you. We also wanted to ground it in real life, so we filmed it in a busy park capturing everyday moments like people running, walking dogs, and spending time with their families."
