Fur sign to Boy Pablo’s 777 Music and share new single “The Fine Line Of A Quiet Life”

FUR return today with their insistent new single “The Fine Line of Quiet Life” and have announced their signing to Boy Pablo's 777 Music. Boy Pablo's brainchild and label partner Nicolas Muñoz had the following to say about signing the group:

“Completely by chance we had FUR as a support act on our very first European tour. If I remember right Will came and gave me a hug before I’d said a word to any of them yet, haha. From the first note they were a totally kick-ass live band and since that day I’ve been a fan - listening to their music and following everything they’ve been doing. They are such a hard working and positive gang and just an overall quality act. They deserve so much attention and I am so excited they are working with 777 Music.”

Murray from FUR had the following to say about the band's first single for their new label:

“"The Fine Line Of A Quiet Life" is a documentation of mixed messages you give yourself and take from others about where you feel you should be in your life, and where you’re at. It’s about self reflection and understanding. It’s about detaching yourself from situations you’ve already been in and know the outcome of. Much like growing up, you learn not to do certain things and slowly but surely you learn that there’s a ‘fine line’ of what lifestyle becomes acceptable the older you get and also what you can hack as an adult (that maybe doesn’t feel too much like one). The feeling of regret and ‘how could I be so blind’ that everyone has felt in relationships that really only comes out once it’s done is something that also goes hand in hand with a mutual respect for a collapsed relationship, and that there’s no undoing of things you’ve done - it’s best to just move on and suck it up.”

News of FUR's signing to Norwegian tastemakers 777 follows a couple of years that has seen them building a significant fanbase across the UK, the band performing several memorable headline tours across the country and a last London play at The Scala pre-pandemic. FUR have also, remarkably, built a formidable and entirely organic following for their effortlessly melodic songs across Asia and Indonesia, with early single "If You Know That I'm Lonely" now nearing 20 million views on YouTube, and a significant part of that traffic coming from those fans in the far-east who have been writing adoringly about the band in the comments section ever since.

The band have also seen significant radio support in the UK from both Radio 1 and Radio 6 and both British and international press support from the likes of NME, Brooklyn Vegan, Dork, So Young, CLASH, Gigwise and more. Theirs is a sound that in places harks back to the classic, playful songcraft of the past but sees it paired to modern, ever-sharp production and influences. DIY perhaps captured it best when they said: “Many young bands of recent years have tried to hark back to the golden dawn of pop songwriting... but few have managed to do it quite as convincingly as Brighton quartet FUR. Pure twinkle-eyed joy.”

The band will announce a much-anticipated debut album soon as well as tour dates in both the UK and the US.
