To The Chase: new single

When You Believed is the first of 5 singles to be announced in the lead-up to the release of To The Chase's forthcoming debut album, Listen Close, scheduled for release in June 2011.

The single and album were recorded at Chapel Studios by Ewan Davies and, after advice on song arrangements from original Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham, the band chose to take the production into their own hands and entrust mixing duties to Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Noisettes, The Enemy).

Formed in 2009, To The Chase are a 3-piece indie / soul band from Hackney, East London. The members of the band are Jim Rooney (drums), Aaron Kravitz (guitar and vocals) and Michael Hamilton (bass). Live, they are joined by a keyboard player and a brass section. Jim and Aaron have been writing and playing music together for a number of years; Michael is the newest member of the band.

The new album Listen Close showcases To The Chase's ability to write catchy and distinctive pop songs influenced by a mixture of genres (including indie, rock, soul, electro, hip-hop and dubstep). They write genre pieces - each of the songs are very different; you won't hear any repetitive sounds, beats or rhythms here. The band's influences scream through the modern pop arrangements of their songs, helping to ensure that the listener's attention is kept to the very last.

The team have produced a fantastic result and there is more to come, with a single a month maintaining interest in the band throughout the first half of 2011.
